The Shakya Muni College was established in the year of 1983 by profrssor J.N Brahamachari, Retired head Deptt of pali,gaya college,gaya and got affiliation to Magadh University. Bodh gaya upto degree level in science and arts in 1990 and was approved by govt. of bihar. The founder of the college firstly tought that there was no institution in the name of Shakya Muni in the country.So he decided to open a college.And the college was established in 1983.
The land of the college was donated by Bodh Gaya Math(13acre 57 dec). The location of the college is beautiful ans peaceful. More thean two thousand student are studing here. About 300 girl student from local area also study in the college. More than 35% of the student are from foregin nation like : Thiland, Combodia,Vietnam,Burma and Srilanka etc.regular classes are run everyday.45 big room are in college .the campus of the college is wide and beautiful.The library facility and practical rooms are satisfactory.
